CKLA

Skills: Students will demonstrate knowledge of letter-sound correspondence and orally blend sound to form single-syllable words. Students will recognize and name the lowercase letters of the alphabet. They will track print from top to bottom, left to right; will attend to capital letters and punctuation as sentence indicators; and will read some sentence aloud. They will also answer questions about characters, setting and main event.

Tricky word: I

I will be sending their Skills book home in Thursday folders. If there are pages that haven't been completed, these are a great review/practice for your student.

Math: Students will review numbers 0-20 by ordering and identifying numbers that come before, after and between, as well as matching numbers. Students will identify a measuring cup and follow a recipe. They will also identify full, half full and empty using measuring cups. We are also learning to count by 5's. Please be practicing this skill with your student. We are learning to count nickels as we have mastered counting pennies and dimes.
