Wednesday, May 1st- Wolfshack open for in-person shopping ( AVA Lobby 3:00-4:00pm) 

Tuesday, May 7th- End of the Year DIBELS Testing - Please give your kiddos a healthy breakfast with protein.

Saturday, May 4th- End of Year Volunteer Appreciation Event

Tuesday, May 14th- Spirit Night: Smart Cow (1:00-9:00pm) 

Friday, May 17th- Free Dress of Choice Day/ Kindergarten Water Day

Saturday, May 18th- Used Uniform Sale (Elementary Gym 10am-12pm)

Saturday, May 18th- Kids’ Night Out 

Monday, May 20th- Field Day (PreK- 5th Grade)/Kindergarten Ice Cream Day 

Tuesday, May 21st- Hawaiian Day in Kindergarten (wear something tropical/uniforms not required). I will provide each student with a lei. 


Wednesday, May 22nd is the Kindergarten Continuation Ceremony starting at

9:00am in the new gym. Doors open at 8:30 a.m. TWO guests per student, please.

After celebration, all will head back to the classrooms for some awards and treats for

the graduates. We plan on wrapping up around 11:15am. Parents are welcome to sign

out students following celebration festivities.


Continuation Volunteer Opportunities: We are in need of parent volunteers to help

with setting up for the ceremony and live streaming the event. If you are interested in

Math: Saxon 1 

This week in math, we will be working on telling time to the 1//2 hour, and working on fact families. We will also be reviewing 3D shapes: spheres, cylinders, cones and cubes. Keep practicing those doubles and using doubles to add one more. 4+5= 9 (4+4=8+1more). Coin recognition and counting mixed coins is also a skill we keep practicing. 

Core Knowledge:

This week, we will complete our weather unit. Starting next week, we will learn about farm animals and their needs. 

Animals and Their Needs & Farm Animals: Big Idea. The students will learn what animals need to survive and the differences between different types of farm animals and crops. Students will also learn how things get from the farm to the market. Students will be also learning about Jane Goodall and her contributions to the scientific community regarding chimpanzees and their use of tools. 

Monthly Saying: “April Showers Bring May Flowers.” 

Character Trait: 

Faculty and staff members will be giving ‘tokens’ to students who are exemplifying the monthly character traits or to students who may need a little extra encouragement. Our goal is that every student gets a book by the end of the school year.
