Welcome to Mrs. Wilson's Kindergarten Classroom!

I am very excited to be teaching Kindergarten students again this school year.  I have been a part of the Aspen View Academy team since its inaugural year in 2013.  I believe that the incorporation of Capturing Kids Hearts as well as AVA’s strong, positive culture makes AVA a great place for children to learn and grow.

I am a graduate of Colorado Christian University.  I recently completed the Science of Teaching Reading course, a new state mandate for teaching in Colorado.  This will be my 9th year teaching Kindergarten and I feel it's the best grade to teach!  Children are my passion and I love to see the amazing growth that students make over the course of one school year.  I strive to make learning fun and exciting for my students.  

On a more personal note, my husband and I have been blessed to make their home in Castle Rock for the past 25 years.  We have three children, ages 19 to 27.  Our oldest is married and he and his wife just made us grandparents!  Our second son recently married and they live in Florida.  Our daughter is a student athlete in North Carolina, so we are empty nesters! I love the outdoors and am happiest when spending time with my family hiking, biking, paddle boarding, gardening, skiing or reading a good book. My favorite sports teams are the Colorado Rockies and the Wake Forest Cross Country/track team.
