Mrs. Wilson
Welcome to Mrs. Wilson's Kindergarten Classroom!
I am very excited to be teaching Kindergarten students again this school year. I have been a part of the Aspen View Academy team since its inaugural year in 2013. I believe that AVA’s strong, positive culture makes our school a great place for children to learn and grow.
I am a graduate of Colorado Christian University. I recently completed the Science of Teaching Reading course, a new state mandate for teaching in Colorado. This will be my 10th year teaching Kindergarten and I feel it's the best grade to teach! Children are my passion and I love to see the amazing growth that students make over the course of one school year. I strive to make learning fun and exciting for my students.
On a more personal note, my husband and I have been blessed to make their home in Castle Rock for the past 28 years. We have three children. Our two sons are grown and married. Our daughter is a student athlete in North Carolina and will be finishing up her degree in December, so we are empty nesters! I love the outdoors and am happiest when spending time with my family hiking, biking, paddle boarding, gardening, skiing or reading a good book. We love Colorado sports and the Wake Forest Cross Country/track team. Go Deacs!
One of my favorite quotes is “You can teach a student a lesson for a day, but if you can teach him to learn by creating curiosity, he will continue the learning process as long as he lives.” Clay P. Bedford
Class Motto: "We are kind; we are smart and we work together!"
You can reach me through email: [email protected] or send me a quick note through our Remind app. This is the quickest way to send me a short message such as "Billy forgot his lunch box. Please have him buy lunch today" or "Suzie had a rough morning. Handle with care."
