Meet Mrs. Hogue

I am honored to begin my sixth year teaching Kindergarten at Aspen View Academy and my 16th year of teaching.  I love being a part of a network of highly prepared educators who share my passion for a transformative academic experience.

I am thrilled to engage my Kindergarten students inside of an atmosphere of excitement and I look forward to building a strong home-school partnership in learning. I believe this partnership creates a community of support as it fosters an environment of security, which allows your child to reach their fullest potential.

I earned my undergraduate degree in Business Administration and I hold a Multiple Subject Teaching Credential from William Jessup University with a Supplemental Credential in Business along with CLAD and NCLB certifications. Last summer I completed the Science of Teaching Reading course, a new state mandate for teaching in Colorado. I also hold a Masters of Arts in Teaching (MAT) from William Jessup University with a published master thesis concentration on the integration of technology within the classroom. This  was a beneficial teaching tool while we went through the pandemic and continues to serve me and my students in the classroom. 

Before joining Aspen View Academy, I taught TK for three years, Kindergarten for four years,  2nd grade for three years, as well as substituted in multiple public school districts ranging from grades TK through 8th grade. My husband (Eric) and I have been married for almost 35 years and we are expatriates of the state of Ohio, the home of the Buckeyes—and the home of 8 presidents and 24 astronauts!

We relocated to Castle Rock  six years ago when my husband accepted a position with Colorado Christian University and now serves as the President of CCU. Prior to that we lived in Rocklin, California for almost 20 years with our two daughters Kiersti (32) and Kourtnee (30). Kiersti and her husband Chris live in Nebraska. Chris and Kiersti have blessed us with our two grandchildren, Bradley (8) and Briar (6). Kourtnee is living in California and is married to Michael.  They have have blessed us with our third grandchild, Hudson, who is almost 2.  

My passion is “teaching minds and reaching hearts.” I am so eager to meet you and your wonderful kiddo as we set our compass together toward a magical kindergarten year at Aspen View Academy!
