Ms. Delamater

Welcome! I'm Bonnie Delamater, and I'm thrilled to be the kindergarten teacher at Aspen View Academy. With 30 years of experience in education, I still find the same joy and excitement in teaching that I did when I began my career. Helping young learners discover, grow, and build confidence is truly my passion.

My educational journey includes a Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing from the University of New Mexico, a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Eastern New Mexico University, and a Master's degree in Technology in Education from Lesley University. I believe learning is a lifelong adventure, and I strive to inspire that same love of learning in every child who enters my classroom.

I began my teaching career in New Mexico, where I spent 25 years teaching at the same school. During that time, both of my sons attended the school where I taught, giving me the unique opportunity to experience education from both a teacher's and a parent's perspective. After they left for college, I moved to beautiful Colorado, where I taught first grade for four years in Northern Colorado before joining the amazing Aspen View Academy family.

When I'm not in the classroom, I enjoy hiking, camping, and spending time outdoors. My family is incredibly important to me. My oldest son, Jake, and his wife live in Austin, Texas, and are expecting their first baby this September—making me a very excited soon-to-be grandma! My younger son, Nathan, lives in Loveland, Colorado, and works in the insurance industry.

I believe kindergarten should be a place where every child feels safe, valued, and excited to learn. My goal is to create a classroom filled with kindness, curiosity, creativity, and plenty of laughter. I look forward to partnering with families to make this a year of growth, friendship, and unforgettable memories.

You can reach me through email: bdelamater@[email protected] or send me a quick note through ClassDojo.  This is the quickest way to send me a short message such as "Billy forgot his lunch box.  Please have him buy lunch today" or "Suzie had a rough morning.  Handle with care."
