Weekly "Newsletter" From Mrs. Rubert:

It’s the week before Christmas, and we are feeling the excitement in the classroom!

Our class holiday party will be on Thursday, December 18th. That morning, we will also have our festive holiday sock exchange, and the flyer is still attached here with all the details! As a reminder, there is no school on Friday, December 19th, as it is a teacher work day!

We only have two weeks left in Quarter 2, I can't believe we already have made it half way through the year. Quarter 2 will officially close on January 9th, and grades will be posted the following week on January 16th. In class, we are wrapping up our Ancient Rome unit this week!  When we return from break, we will begin Unit 5: Light and Sound. As a fun culminating activity to celebrate all we’ve learned about Ancient Rome, we will have our annual Rome Day on Friday, January 16th. Watch out for a sign-up genius coming about this.

When we return from winter break, Monday, January 5th is a teacher work day, so students will return on Tuesday, January 6th! I am looking forward to spending this last week of 2025 with your students and can’t wait to jump into 2026 with them!

With Love,

Mrs. Rubert

Meet the Teacher - Letter from Mrs. Rubert

I am thrilled to begin a new role this year at Aspen View Academy as your child's third grade teacher! I have previously taught fourth grade and kindergarten but third grade is my absolute favorite! I am a Washington State native and have now lived in Colorado for eight years! I received my bachelors degree in Elementary Education at Western Washington University and my Masters of Education at City University of Seattle. I love AVA! I currently have two of my own children in the building including my first grader, Scarlett, and my seventh grader, Ben. My oldest, Matilda, is attending Colorado Early Colleges as a freshman. My husband Tyler and I enjoy jumping in the car with the kids and exploring in the mountains, heading to the lake for kayaking, or discovering a new hike!  We have two cats, Kiwi and Henry, and recently adopted a new pup named, Buckley. I love country music, attending concerts, sunshine, being outdoors, traveling, and spending time with my family! I am so excited for this school year! Thank you for sharing your wonderful children with me!
