Weekly "Newsletter" From Mrs. Rubert:

I hope everyone had a great Super Bowl Sunday or enjoyed the beautiful weather we had this weekend!

This week we are continuing our Vikings unit, and a reminder that Viking boxes are due on Monday, February 9th. I can’t wait to see what the kids have come up with! Students will be sharing their boxes and explaining the items they chose with other third grade classes, so it will be a fun opportunity for them to show their creativity and learning.

On Thursday, we will be celebrating Valentine’s Day. There is no need to bring in boxes, as we will have bags for students to decorate and use. There is no official party time, but we will enjoy some Valentine’s activities and spend time passing out valentines together! We have 26 students in our class!

As a reminder, we have a four-day weekend coming up. Friday, 2/13 is a teacher work day, and Monday, 2/16 is President’s Day!!

With Love,

Mrs. Rubert

Meet the Teacher - Letter from Mrs. Rubert

I am thrilled to begin a new role this year at Aspen View Academy as your child's third grade teacher! I have previously taught fourth grade and kindergarten but third grade is my absolute favorite! I am a Washington State native and have now lived in Colorado for eight years! I received my bachelors degree in Elementary Education at Western Washington University and my Masters of Education at City University of Seattle. I love AVA! I currently have two of my own children in the building including my first grader, Scarlett, and my seventh grader, Ben. My oldest, Matilda, is attending Colorado Early Colleges as a freshman. My husband Tyler and I enjoy jumping in the car with the kids and exploring in the mountains, heading to the lake for kayaking, or discovering a new hike!  We have two cats, Kiwi and Henry, and recently adopted a new pup named, Buckley. I love country music, attending concerts, sunshine, being outdoors, traveling, and spending time with my family! I am so excited for this school year! Thank you for sharing your wonderful children with me!
