Weekly "Newsletter" From Mrs. Rubert:

I hope everyone enjoys their first 3-day weekend of the year and is looking forward to our 4-day school week!

This week is MAPS Testing for our Math and Reading! Since students will be working hard on their tests, homework will be lighter than usual. Please make sure your child is getting plenty of sleep each night and eating a good breakfast each morning so they are ready to do their best. Quick reminder that we will also be working on a River's Project and if you signed up to send in materials, please have those sent in with your student or dropped off at the Front Office by Tuesday, September 2nd.

This week, AVA will be having our Curriculum Night on Thursday, September 4th from 6:00–7:10 pm. Third grade presentations will begin around 6:40 pm, our administration is still finalizing the schedule, but I will send it out as soon as it is ready. We encourage you to attend if possible, as it is a great opportunity to meet your child’s skill group teachers and learn more about classroom routines and expectations for that specific skills group.

Looking ahead, our Boosterthon Fundraiser will begin next week! The kickoff will be on September 8th with an assembly at the end of the day, and the event will run through the week, ending with our Fun Run on September 17th. I will be sending updates about this as we get closer!

Finally, if anyone is able to donate small water bottles and community snacks, it would be greatly appreciated!

With Love,

Mrs. Rubert

Meet the Teacher - Letter from Mrs. Rubert

I am thrilled to begin a new role this year at Aspen View Academy as your child's third grade teacher! I have previously taught fourth grade and kindergarten but third grade is my absolute favorite! I am a Washington State native and have now lived in Colorado for eight years! I received my bachelors degree in Elementary Education at Western Washington University and my Masters of Education at City University of Seattle. I love AVA! I currently have two of my own children in the building including my first grader, Scarlett, and my seventh grader, Ben. My oldest, Matilda, will be attending Colorado Early Colleges next year as a freshman! My husband Tyler and I enjoy jumping in the car with the kids and exploring in the mountains, heading to the lake for kayaking, or discovering a new hike!  We have two cats, Kiwi and Henry, and recently adopted a new pup named, Buckley. I love country music, attending concerts, sunshine, being outdoors, traveling, and spending time with my family! I am so excited for this school year! Thank you for sharing your wonderful children with me!
