Meet Mrs. Hogue

Welcome! I am honored to begin my ninth year teaching Kindergarten at Aspen View Academy and my 19th year in education. Teaching kindergarten is truly my dream job, and I love creating a classroom where children feel excited to learn, encouraged to grow, and celebrated for who they are.

If you ask me what I love most about teaching kindergarten, it's watching children discover they can do hard things. There is nothing more rewarding than seeing their confidence grow as they learn, explore, and realize their own potential.

I believe the strongest learning happens when families and teachers work together. My goal is to create a classroom filled with kindness, curiosity, laughter, and meaningful learning while helping every child build confidence and develop a lifelong love of learning.

I earned my undergraduate degree in Business Administration before pursuing a career in education. I hold a California Multiple Subject Teaching Credential, a Colorado Professional Teacher License, and a Master of Arts in Teaching from William Jessup University. I have also completed Colorado's Science of Teaching Reading coursework to further strengthen my literacy instruction.

Before joining Aspen View Academy, I taught Transitional Kindergarten, Kindergarten, and 2nd Grade, and substituted in classrooms from TK through 8th grade. Every experience has reinforced my passion for helping young learners build a strong academic and social-emotional foundation.

Outside the classroom, my husband, Eric, and I have been married for nearly 38 years. We moved to Castle Rock from California when Eric joined Colorado Christian University, where he now serves as President. We have two wonderful daughters and four amazing grandchildren who bring us endless joy.

My classroom motto is simple: Teaching Minds. Reaching Hearts. I look forward to partnering with your family and making this a joyful, memorable, and successful kindergarten year!
