Technology Fees

AVA is a one-to-one school; each student is assigned a computer for use during the school year. Elementary Students use their assigned computer during the school day; Middle School Students are allowed to take computers home at night to help with homework.

 

Fee Guide
In the event of damage to a computer, fees will be assessed to the student via MySchoolBucks. Students and their families will be responsible for paying all fees due to damage. AVA is trying to foster a sense of responsibility and instill values of accountability among students. The act of paying for damages serves as a tangible consequence for irresponsible behavior and hopefully acts as a deterrent against mistreatment or neglect of school property.

 

LAPTOP FEES
Prices subject to change based on availability and market changes but can range from the following -

Total replacement of laptop: $400
Damage or loss of protective case: $40
Screen replacement First Offense: $75
Repeated Offense: $150
Bezel (around screen): $20
Cracked case and/or hinge: $50
Broken ports (USB or power ports): $125 (requires motherboard replacement)
Motherboard replacement due to liquid spills: $125
Keyboard/trackpad: $50
Charger / power cord: $35 for lost/damaged power cord

Removing Asset Tag: $5
Other damage TBD at the time

 

Failure of the parent or legal guardian to pay any of the fees from a damaged, lost, or stolen computer will be turned over to a collection agency.
