AM Carpool -The morning shift is from 7:40-8:15am. Please help open car doors for our students. Help keep traffic flowing and move students safely from the curb. When the temps are below 20 degrees, bundle up and come help. We will give you double hours.

PM Carpool -The afternoon shift is from 3:15-4:00pm. Please help open car doors for our students on the sidewalk or you can help que cars in the parking lot. The more adults we have helps ensure the safety of the students, other volunteers and AVA staff. When the temps are below 20 degrees, bundle up and come help. We will give you double hours.

The PTO also has many volunteer opportunities and ways to get involved. To see those, please go to the PTO pages.

Volunteers are expected to make child care arrangements for younger children prior to volunteering at the school. Younger children/siblings are not allowed in the classroom while volunteering.

LOGGING VOLUNTEER HOURS

We are no longer using the Raptor System to log your volunteer hours. All volunteer hours should be logged into HelpCounter within 48 hours. There is a computer in the front lobby so you can log hours while you are at the school; you may also log hours at home for any PTO work, at home projects or if you forgot to log your hours while you were at school.

How to Set up your Account with HelpCounter
  • Please click on this link and log in using your email address and create a password.
  • Click on 'Update Profile Information' to add your information and record your student's grade.
  • Click on 'Update Volunteer Interest Form' to indicate what types of volunteer opportunities interest you. This does not commit you, rather it allows the coordinator to see who is interested in specific opportunities.

If you have questions about HelpCounter or logging hours, please dcarson@aspenviewacademy. org

VOLUNTEERING COMMITMENT

AVA believes that the success of each student will be a shared responsibility of students, teachers, parents, staff, and community leaders. Volunteers enhance the school and its culture and character through their involvement. Accordingly, a strong family involvement program will be implemented. AVA encourages 30 volunteer hours per family per school year. Single-parent families are encouraged to volunteer 15 hours per school year. The volunteer school year shall coincide with AVA’s fiscal year, and hours shall accrue from July 1 through June 30. If your family has special circumstances that make it difficult for you to meet the suggested volunteer hours, please contact the Volunteer Coordinator. Many volunteer opportunities exist within AVA’s PTO. The PTO is an organization comprised of parent volunteers for the purpose of providing community support, fundraising and planning various events within our school community.

For more information see the Vistor Volunteer Policy.
