Family Movie Night -October 6, 2023- We are so excited to host our first AVA Family Movie Night.
Donut Day-October 6, 2023-We are in need of a few volunteers to help make Donut Day a success!
Spring Soiree Planning Committee Help Needed! School has officially started and while Spring is far away, it’s never too early to start planning for the annual spring fundraiser, Spring Soiree! Last year was such a huge success, we’ve been asked to do it again! And this year we definitely need more support. If you would like to join the Spring Soiree Committee please email Tara Landen at [email protected]

WatchDOGS -Dads (or other male role models) get to spend all day with your kids in their classrooms. Sometimes teachers will have you assist in small groups or just roam the room helping during instruction. You will also help with Car Pool, patrol the school and perimeter a couple times during the day, as well as helping during the lunch time either in the lunchroom or on the playground as a monitor. Sometimes there might even be other odd jobs you can perform around the school.

Lunch/Recess -Our lunchroom could not run efficiently without our wonderful parent volunteers. Our Lunchroom League (think Justice League) volunteers assist our lunch aides in the lunchroom. Spend some time outside monitoring the students during the recess.

Lost and Found -Help clean, organize and straighten Lost and Found. Help items find their owners, any unclaimed and unlabeled items will be donated.

AM Carpool -The morning shift is from 7:40-8:15am. Please help open car doors for our students. Help keep traffic flowing and move students safely from the curb.

PM Carpool -The afternoon shift is from 3:15-4:00pm. Please help open car doors for our students on the sidewalk or you can help que cars in the parking lot. The more adults we have helps ensure the safety of the students, other volunteers and AVA staff.

The PTO also has many volunteer opportunities and ways to get involved. To see those, please go to the PTO pages.

We are no longer using the Raptor System to log your volunteer hours. All volunteer hours should be logged into HelpCounter within 48 hours. There is a computer in the front lobby so you can log hours while you are at the school; you may also log hours at home for any PTO work, at home projects or if you forgot to log your hours while you were at school.
How to Set up your Account with HelpCounter
  • Please click on this link and log in using your email address and create a password.
  • Click on 'Update Profile Information' to add your information and record your student's grade.
  • Click on 'Update Volunteer Interest Form' to indicate what types of volunteer opportunities interest you. This does not commit you, rather it allows the coordinator to see who is interested in specific opportunities.

If you have questions about HelpCounter or logging hours, please dcarson@aspenviewacademy. org

To log volunteer hours, please visit the Help Counter Volunteer Login page.

AVA believes that the success of each student will be a shared responsibility of students, teachers, parents, staff, and community leaders. Volunteers enhance the school and its culture and character through their involvement. Accordingly, a strong family involvement program will be implemented. AVA expects 30 volunteer hours per family per school year. Single-parent families are expected to volunteer 15 hours per school year. The volunteer school year shall coincide with AVA’s fiscal year, and hours shall accrue from July 1 through June 30. If your family has special circumstances that make it difficult for you to meet the expected volunteer hours, please contact the Volunteer Coordinator. Many volunteer opportunities exist within AVA’s PTO. The PTO is an organization comprised of parent volunteers for the purpose of providing community support, fundraising and planning various events within our school community.
