Welcome to music! I am so excited that we get to create all kinds of music and memories in our classroom together. Letter to Parents and Students
Hi all,
I am thrilled to be joining the AVA team this 2023-24 academic school year. I am embarking on my first year in the classroom after obtaining my master's degree in vocal performance and literature from the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign.
I have always loved creating music, and I feel so much joy when I can inspire others to be creative, too. I feel that the music classroom is not a space where perfection is the main goal. Instead, I want to have a classroom full of confident music makers that show up ready to learn, no matter what level they are meeting me at; it is my job, as the teacher to bring this confidence out of our talented learners. By teaching rigorous content, while also creating a safe space for learning, I hope to inspire our musicians.
