About Me

To give you a little background on myself, I have been a Speech-Language Pathologist since 2002.  I received both a Bachelor of Science degree in Speech Communications and a Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from Northern Arizona University. In 2010 my husband, two children and I relocated to the amazing state of Colorado!

I have worked in a dynamic variety of settings ranging from Early Intervention, Preschool and Clinical/Private Speech Therapy to Elementary and Middle Schools.

I have been at Aspen View Academy since we opened in 2013 and work with all of the students who qualify for speech/language therapy in kindergarten through 8th grade. I also enjoy working closely alongside parents and students who may not qualify for a formal IEP in the special education program, but are looking for some home activities and some collaborative interventions.

In our speech room, we work hard to meet all of the students' speech and language goals, but I love to keep things as fun as possible!  Carryover and working with your students at home is pertinent to carryover and mastery of skills. When parents or teachers ask, "How long will it take to correct this?",  much like any other activity, the more you practice the greater you will achieve mastery. Most activities only done once or twice a week take much longer and show less growth. I love sending home fun activities that target speech articulation and expressive and receptive language alongside our weekly therapy in order help our students meet their goals and achieve maximum growth.
