Grades:

Each week in the STEAM rotation, students have the opportunity to earn 10 points for the week based on participation and staying on task in class. All students will have time to complete classwork and assignments either in the week of class or during a "makeup" window of time. In my class, it is more important to me that they understand each assignment and can properly use tools and understand skills being learned with each lesson. Each assignment will be reviewed individually with me to ensure understanding and it removes stress from the student and provides clarity on that assignments takeaways, which is most important. If points are ever deducted from participation/staying on task, notes will be made in IC. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions.

Meet Ms. Orness

Hi!! I am very excited to share with you that this is my 10th year working at AVA (we became a part of the AVA fam 11 years ago)! I feel grateful everyday to be a part of this school and this community. I am a Colorado native and live in Castle Rock with my daughter Kynslee, vizsla pup named Brynley and my daughter's brat cat Paisley! We call our the 'Girl Castle'! :)

I am still in room 200, come by and say hi if you are ever in the building. I am looking forward to a year of fun and learning in Elem Tech.🙂

Rotation 3 10/7-11/8

K- Continuing mouse with various games. We will also be learning the tools of a "painitng" app. Students will also begin working on their pretend laptops!

1- Learning Paint Z and creating a Fall picture (tree, falling leaves, pumpkins)

and typing practice.

2- Learning the classic Oregon Trail game as a part of their Westward Expansion unit in History.

3- Wrapping up Online Safety/Signing the Online Safety pledge board. We will begin a new project in Slides creating a costume by learning to piece together images they find on Kiddle and learning to remove the background of images.

4/5- Wrapping up Online Safety this week and playing "Be Internet Awesome" games on Google Interland. They will also be signing the Online Safety pledge board.
