Meet Mrs. Combe

Welcome to first grade!  I am excited to start my twelfth year at Aspen View Academy and fourteenth year of teaching. I was drawn to AVA due to its rich curriculum, strong culture and emphasis on character development. Teaching "little learners" is my sweet spot, as my hope is to instill a passion and curiosity of learning that children will carry with them throughout their lives.  I am thrilled to be making the move from kindergarten to first grade this year!

I grew up in California and attended San Diego State University where I earned my B.A. in Liberal Studies, Elementary Education.  I completed my teaching program here in Colorado at Metro State.  Prior to teaching first grade, I taught kindergarten for 10 years and  taught PreK, worked as a paraprofessional and worked as a substitute teacher. I am blessed to have 2 daughters, a junior at Castle View and a freshman in starting CSU this fall.  I also enjoy my 2 fur babies.

The mountains are one of my favorite places to be.  Our family keeps active mountain biking, hiking, skiing, and exploring the outdoors.   I also enjoy cooking, photography, and travel, both near and far!  I am looking  forward to an amazing 2025/26 school year!
