Meet Ms. Combe

Welcome to first grade!  I am excited to start my thirteenth year at Aspen View Academy and fifteenth year of teaching. I was drawn to AVA due to its rich curriculum, strong culture, and emphasis on character development. Teaching "little learners" is my sweet spot, as I hope to instill a passion and curiosity for learning that children will carry with them throughout their lives.

I grew up in California and attended San Diego State University, where I earned my B.A. in Liberal Studies, Elementary Education.  I completed my teaching program here in Colorado at Metro State.  Before teaching first grade, I taught kindergarten for 11 years and taught PreK. I have 2 daughters, a senior at Castle View and a sophomore at CSU. 

The mountains are one of my favorite places to be.  Our family keeps active biking, hiking, skiing, and exploring the outdoors.   I also enjoy cooking, photography, and travel, both near and far! This summer I explored Prague and Croatia. 

I am looking forward to an amazing 2026/27 school year!
