Board Members

The Aspen View Academy (AVA) Board of Directors works for the students, parents, and patrons of AVA in promoting the vision and mission of the school. As a governing board, AVA’s board sets policies and has oversight over financial matters of the school while focusing on the long-term strategic direction of the school. AVA’s board is comprised of seven individuals, committed to the success of AVA’s students. 

Eric Patton - Board President

Eric Patton is Board President. He currently serves as the Chief Operating Officer of WealthSource Partners, a multi-state wealth management company with operational headquarters in Centennial, CO.  Prior to merging into WealthSource Partners, Mr. Patton was the Founder and Chief Financial Officer of Avant-Garde Advisors. Eric received his Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, from the University of Wyoming where he met and married his wife, Jennifer.  Eric and his wife are also owners of Cars Helping Charities, a national car processing company for charitable vehicle donations.  They have resided in the Meadows of Castle Rock since 2006 with their two boys, one of which currently attends Aspen View Academy.  They are currently expecting their third son and are avid supporters of the Denver Broncos, the University of Wyoming, their community and Aspen View Academy.

Jacob Johnson - Board Treasurer

Jacob and his wife Michele are parents to Lorenzo, their 9 year old son who has been at AVA since Kindergarten and getting ready to enter 4th Grade. They have lived in Colorado since 2011 and reside in Castle Rock. Jacob is currently the Director of Operations for the Southwest Region of Harmon, a large specialty subcontractor and
has spent the last 15 years in senior management roles managing large P/L businesses, building markets and teams and developing a strong business and financial acumen. He also co-founded and sits on the board of a charity foundation. Jacob holds a Business Degree from the University of North Dakota, and an MMI certificate from the University of MN, Carlson School of Business. Jacob and family enjoy skiing and mountain biking as much as possible.

Erin Lontai - Secretary

Erin and her husband Jon moved to Castle Rock from Chicago in 2017. They have 3 children who currently attend AVA. Erin received her Bachelor’s degree in Business Management from Eastern Illinois University and her Master’s degree in Elementary Education from DePaul University. She is a former elementary teacher, having experience in both private and public schools. Erin enjoys weight lifting as well as mountain biking and hiking with her family in this beautiful state!

Tara Landen

Tara and her husband, Nick, relocated to Colorado in 2017 and have loved building their life and raising their family in Castle Rock. Wyoming natives at heart, both Tara and Nick were born and raised in the Cowboy State before making Colorado home. They are proud parents of two daughters, both of whom attend elementary school at Aspen View Academy.

A graduate of University of Wyoming, Tara earned her Bachelor of Business Administration with an emphasis in Marketing. Throughout her career, she has held a variety of communications and marketing roles spanning healthcare, affordable housing, and the AEC industry. Today, she serves as the Marketing and Business Development Manager at Fortis Structural, where she supports strategic growth and client engagement initiatives.

While Tara is passionate about her professional career, she considers her most meaningful role to be that of a mom. She is excited for the opportunity to serve the Aspen View Academy community and help support the school’s continued growth and success.

Tim Hemminger

Tim Hemminger joins the Aspen View Academy Board of Directors with over 15 years of executive leadership in CPG operations, procurement, and company building - bringing a strategic mindset and a track record of holding systems accountable to outcomes. Tim is deeply rooted in the AVA community, having served as the head varsity basketball coach leading the program to its most successful season in seven years. His wife Maggie has served as a first grade instructional assistant since 2022, and together they are proud parents to three children — Jackson, Stella, and Harlow, who currently attends Aspen View in 4th grade. The Hemminger family is deeply committed to the Castle Rock community and Tim looks forward to serving the students, staff, and families of Aspen View Academy with integrity and purpose.

Eric Lute

Eric and and his wife Katy are parents to Winter, Chloe and Eli. He and his family moved to Castle Rock in 2015. He currently has two children attending AVA. Eric received his Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering Technology from Purdue University. He is a spacecraft power electronics design engineer for Lockheed Martin. Eric and Katy are originally from Indiana but moved to Colorado in 2008 and enjoy attending Red Rocks Church, mountain biking and weight lifting. 

Leanne Weyman

Dr. Leanne Weyman is excited to join the AVA board as charter education is a personal and professional passion. Leanne and her husband Stewart relocated to Castle Rock in 2010 and Leanne has been  involved in charter education ever since.  She has served charter schools in the roles of Middle School Science Teacher, Assistant Principal, Principal and Director. She now serves as Regional Vice President of Charter Schools for ACCEL Schools. In this role she mentors new charter school principals across the nation, and works to help charter schools meet the needs of the school community and families. Leanne is mom to two sons, Hudson and Theodore who both attend AVA.
