Weekly "Newsletter" From Ms. Alvarez:

As we head into the final countdown to summer, it’s hard to believe we are already in our last month together! This time of year always brings a mix of excitement and reflection as we wrap up an amazing year!

This week, students will begin their end-of-year MAPS testing in Language Usage. They will also complete their end-of-year DIBELS assessments with their reading teacher. We are so proud of the growth they’ve shown, and this is a great opportunity for them to show all they’ve learned.

Coming home in Thursday folders this week is an important letter about our summative project for our Colonial Unit, which we are beginning now. For this project, students will choose a colonial job and create an item to “make” for our upcoming Colonial Market Day. The project is intended to be a fun, hands-on way to bring history to life. For more detailed information, please check the PDF here on my website if it doesn't make it home!

Along with that, we will be sending out an email soon with opportunities for volunteers and donations for our 4th Colonial Day. This is one of our favorite end-of-year traditions, and it’s always such a fun and memorable way to wrap up our Colonial Unit.

Lastly, don’t forget that our final field trip of the year is this Friday at Skate City. Parents are more than welcome to come join us and skate—it’s a great way to celebrate the end of the year together! If you have already, please access the MSB link HERE!

With Love,
