Lisa Dychus

Welcome!  

My name is Lisa Dychus and I am excited to join Aspen View Academy this year as a Math Specialist.  I have spent 13 years in the classroom teaching middle school math, and I love helping students discover that they CAN do math! 

My goal is to help students develop a strong understanding of mathematics while building confidence in their abilities and discovering the joy of problem solving.  I strive to create a positive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, sharing their ideas, and making mistakes.  

Most importantly, I want students to see themselves as mathematicians: critical thinkers, creative problem solvers, and learners who embrace and persevere through challenges.

About Me:

I earned my BA in Mathematics from Lehigh University and my MA in Teaching from Westminster College.  Prior to teaching, I put my problem solving skills to the test for 3 years as a civilian operations research analyst for the US Navy.

When I'm not in the classroom, I play ice hockey and enjoy spending time in the mountains hiking and skiing.  I am an avid traveler and reader, both of which fuel my passion for learning.
