Meet Mrs. Thorpe
I am very excited to be a Skills Group Teacher again this year at AVA! I have been a part of the AVA community since the school opened in 2013 as a Substitute Teacher with Douglas County and as a parent.
I grew up in a suburb of St. Paul, Minnesota and graduated from Bethel College (MN) with degrees in Elementary Education and Speech Communication. I lived in Florida and Illinois working in the hospitality industry before settling in Colorado in 2002.
My family consists of my husband and two children. My daughter attends Lutheran High School and my son is in middle school at AVA. We also have a six year old West Highland White Terrier puppy, Kenzie!
In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family, traveling and watching sports (go Vikings!)
