  • Students have just assembled their, "The Making of America, Immigration," packets in their red (history) folder.
  • Students will use their packet each day for classwork and homework.
  • They will also use their iPads to connect with Google Classroom, as some assignments will be turned in electronically.
  • If students are absent, I post a summary of each day in Google Classroom under the title, "Daily Class Summary." .
  • GOOGLE CLASSROOM will be up and running by the first day of school.  At that time, students will be invited to their History Class with their AVA email address.
  • The format for all student emails is as follows: Last Name - First Initial of First Name - First Initial of Middle Name. Example: [email protected]

Meet Mrs. Link!

Hello!  I am thrilled to be a part of AVA, and even more excited to be teaching World History on the 6th grade team.  This will be my 16th year teaching.  I taught Middle School History for 8 years and Visual Arts to students K-8 for 5 years.  This is my third year teaching history here at AVA. I have a love for history, and hope to instill that love in my students.

My family and I moved to Castle Rock from the Northwest suburbs of Chicago a little over 4 years ago.  When I am not at school, I enjoy family time with my husband  and two children, Jack (19) and Ella (16).  We have taken full advantage of the Colorado lifestyle, and we love hiking and enjoying the Great Outdoors!

I am so excited to begin the 2023-2024 school year, and cannot wait to get to know my students.  I am honored to be part of this community, and I thank you for sharing your kiddos with me.

In partnership,

August Link

  • PARENT VOLUNTEER Info:
  •  HelpCounter will be used to register for volunteer opportunities and log your service hours. We will no longer be using the Raptor System to log your volunteer hours. All volunteer hours should be logged into HelpCounter within 48 hours. There will be a computer in the front lobby so you can log hours while you are at the school; you may also log hours at home for any PTO work, at home projects or if you forgot to log your hours while you were at school.
  • How to Set up your Account with HelpCounter
  • Please click on this  link and log in using your email address and create a password.
  • Click on 'Update Profile Information' to add your information and record your student's grade.
  • Click on 'Update Volunteer Interest Form' to indicate what types of volunteer opportunities interest you. This does not commit you, rather it allows the coordinator to see who is interested in specific opportunities.
  • If you have questions about HelpCounter or logging hours, please email me at  dcarson@aspenviewacademy. org
